Tropical Storm Dolly is expected to weaken to a tropical depression Thursday after drenching parts of south Texas with a foot of rain and possibly much more.

Dolly slammed ashore Wednesday as a Category Two hurricane, packing 100-mile-an-hour winds. It moved slowly westward while dumping heavy rain.

The National Hurricane Center Thursday morning has Dolly centered about 95 miles northwest of Brownsville, Texas. Its winds have dropped to 60 miles-per-hour.

Thousands of people have moved into shelters. One woman and her family decided not to, but were later forced to flee their mobile home for a relative's house when the trailer became too wobbly. She says they "didn't know it would be this bad."
