Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama toured Israel's Holocaust memorial, and also met with Palestinian and Israeli leadership Wednesday.

Obama laid a wreath in memory of the six million Jews who died at the Yad Vashem memorial in Jerusalem.

He said: "Ultimately, this is a place of hope."

Many people in Israel are concerned that if elected, Obama might push Israel too hard in negotiations with the Palestinians. But opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu says Obama told him that "he would never seek in any way to compromise Israel's security."

Netanyahu says they also discussed Israel's determination that Iran never be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

Later Wednesday, Barack Obama met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. An aide to Abbas says Obama promised to be a constructive partner in the Mideast peace process should he become president.

Saeb Erekat added that Obama told Abbas in their hour-long meeting in the West Bank that he "would not waste a minute" if elected president in November.

Obama left the meeting without talking to reporters. He returned to Jerusalem for more talks with Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

He also had talks with Israel's defense minister Ehud Barak and former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The opposition leader says Obama assured him he'd never seek in any way to compromise Israel's security.

The rest of the world does not care about us! We need a president who will think of America first and let those other countries run thier own people and economies. I personally could care less about other countries. US first....and do away with the enviromentalist!

K you are right. Red flags should be going off for all Americans when speaking of or about O'Bama. People don't seem to be alarmed about his foreign country interest and visits there but he does nothing or says nothing to assist the military in a war. There are Americans that are fearful that O'Bama's goals are other than what he says, and are also fearful that he has a hidden agenda that will devastate the U.S. like nothing we have ever known. I think O'Bama's preacher stated it all and quite clear. I wish Fox news would re-air the programming on the preacher and the snipits on a few of his services. O'Bama defended him to the hilt until he realized it was not going to fly not even with of his supporters. O'Bama denonced him only because he had to. There should be fear when asking if O'Bama has the best interest of the American people at heart. It was not long ago that his wife said for the first time she was proud to be an American. How scary is that?
