i feel sadness for the mom-it was her wedding day....i can totally see a 4 yr old sneeking back into a car-in this instance it was an suv. i have an suv and 4 kids and i can see it-especially if maybe the kid was feeling left out or whatever with the moms mind on her wedding day. it was an accident-i'm not passing judgement on anyone-it could have just as easily of happened to me.

I have to admit when I first read this story I also thought that there is no way I could forget my child was there but I remember doing the same sort of thing when I was a kid. I pray to God that this was an accident. My heart is with the mother and the family. I can not imagine the pain of losing a child. My daughter is my life. The family is in my prayers.

First, my heart goes out to the mother.Nobody should judge another when we only have the media's side of the story and not the mother's.Second, I have a four year old and know first hand how sneaky they can be and how clingy they are too their mothers. My son snuck out of a door at the nieghbors and figured out how to get into our house through a gate and stayed there until I got home. My neighbor was frantic. It's not always a neglectful parent...

What if she did drop him off and he snuck back in the car and she never knew it ? Your kid ever hide somewhere to surprise you and you not know they were there ?

there is no way you can leave a child in the car and not know he is there especially a 4 year old. there are to many articles about the parent not knowing the child was in the car. that is bull put them under the jail.

Okay, first of all, Michelle, it's not a problem with grammar, simply a typo. Sure the editors should have caught it before printing it, but that is simply a mistake, not something to be appalled about. Life is too short to be appalled about something so simple. Secondly, four month old or four year old, doesn't matter in a case like this. For the mother to not know her child was in a hot car long enough for it to kill the child is just not acceptable. At best it's Man 1, at worst it's Neglient Homicide. Either way, not good for the mother and the rest of the family. I pity the judge and jury that's got to make that call.

Could you guys please learn how to write? "It's not yet know how long the boy was left in the car." That's just sad and I am appalled to read that kind of grammar.

There has been a release she may have THOUGHT she had dropped him off. The way I am reading this he may have snuck back in the car without his mother's knowledge. http://www.wptv.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=e52b5937-987a-4cf3-8356-3eb5625a99c5&rss=762

I am a 29 year old mother of 2. I have a 4 yr old and an 11 month old. And I dont see how you can forget your children! When I drop them off at Daycare I make sure both of them are out. I dont see how you can forget your child. And wouldnt the reletive have noticed a missing child when she dropped them off? If I was the reletive I would have been like where is so and so?

K- I agree but an I.Q. is no guarantee. Intelligence is no guarantee for good parenting. There may be something to Crystal's comment.

When my Son was 5 yrs old, he was left in the car for more than 5 hrs by his father. The jurors up at Lake County found the father NOT guilty of Child abuse!!! The mother who did this to her son needs to be charged to the full extent of the law. That poor little child. My heart breaks for the him.

This mother will remember this as long as she lives...as well she should. My heart goes out to the family. That poor child. I have a great-granddaughter who is 4 years old and when the other children are getting out of the car you bet she is telling them to let her out too. I pray that she didn't suffer and just fell asleep. Poor little angel.
