Authorities say four people are dead and six more injured in crane collapse at refinery in Houston.
Assistant Fire Chief Omero Longoria says all the workers were contract employees working at the LyondellBasell refinery in Houston. He says the crane is several hundred feet long.
The company says it was preparing to do routine maintenance on one of the units at the refinery. It says the crane wasn't scheduled to be active today, but the engine was on after it hit the ground.
Crane safety has been getting extra scrutiny in recent months because of a series of crane-related deaths in New York, Miami and Las Vegas.
