The 75-year-old Colorado Springs Symphony has played its final note.

After filing for Chapter seven bankruptcy protection in a Denver
court, the symphony says it will be liquidated.

Executive director Larry Barret says the filing was made after
exhausting all possibilities. The symphony is one (m) million
dollars in debt.

In Chapter 7 bankruptcy, a trustee of the court will liquidate
the symphony's assets and then distribute the money to creditors.

Several former symphony musicians who severed their ties with
the group have joined the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra,
which is coming forward to fill the void.
