Colorado House lawmakers have approved a resolution recognizing the difficulties of residents who can't afford health insurance.

House Minority Leader Jennifer Veiga (VAY'-guh) of Denver
sponsored the proposal. A group promoting ``Cover the Uninsured
Week'' throughout the country drafted it.
.
Some House members criticized part of the resolution's wording.

They cited sections stating that 80 percent of uninsured Americans
are in working families that can't afford health insurance and
aren't eligible for public programs.

Representative Shawn Mitchell of Broomfield says some people
simply make an irresponsible choice not to buy health insurance.
