Denver police now believe a woman missing for more than a month is dead and an arrest warrant for her husband accuses him of "murder in the first degree."
Investigators say 53-year-old Frank Schilt likely killed his 51 year old wife, Teresa, in their Denver home Feb. 25, put her body in a Dumpster, then fled to Arkansas.
Authorities there arrested Frank Schilt during an apparent suicide attempt on Wednesday.
Denver police spokeswoman Virginia Quinones says investigators have searched the couple's home, but won't talk about what they found.
Officers plan to begin searching Denver-area landfills for a body, but police investigations Chief David Fisher says police first have to figure out where the body was dumped, and which landfill it would lead to.
Quinones says Schilt could return to Colorado next week if he does not fight extradition.
