State media report at least 50 bodies have been pulled from houses following a series of earthquakes today in western Iran.
At least 850 people have been injured by the quakes.
The mountainous region has been jolted by more than a dozen tremors.
The first one struck at one o'clock in the morning, local time.
Some people ran into the streets in panic and have refused to return to their homes.
A provincial official says 200 villages have been damaged and some are flattened.
