This was an investigation that lasted 15 months.

Authorities say a major operation based in Pueblo has been shut down.

And they seized more than one million dollars worth of drugs.

All the suspects are from Pueblo, and are apparently connected to a one family.

Pueblo police tells 11 News, the investigation was dubbed "Operation Family Tradition."

That's because of the suspected involvement of several members of that family.

Investigators say, Ellena Avila Lopez is believed to be the ringleader of the criminal organization.

Through the use of confidential informants, and undercover agents, the alleged hierarchy of the Ellena Avila Lopez drug trafficking organization has finally been taken down.

An estimated 1.2 million dollars worth of illegal drugs were seized.

So far, 25 suspects have been arrested, as well as 11 suspects waiting to facing charges, and one man, Richard Ebel is still on the loose.

Authorities say, this drug trafficking organization has been operating as a criminal enterprise for several years in Southern Colorado, distributing large amounts of Methamphetamine.

"I hope that this huge, successful operation will send a message to people in Pueblo that law enforcement is working on problems, and I hope it sends a message to the drug traffickers that we will eventually get to you, " says Chief Jim Billings, Pueblo Police Department.

The Pueblo Police department is continuing to follow leads related to this bust, which officials say may result in additional arrests.

I agree with Native and Anon. ICE, I understand what you said yet I didn't see where this was stated. I think we may want to assume they are legal until stated otherwise. I do hope they get all the punks and make a significant dent in decreasing the supply of drugs to American citizens. Drugs equal violence, illegal use of weapons, and broken families. "legalize it" Stop Snitchin 07?? I believe you really think this bust is great and you're just kidding us...huh?? You can't possibly mean what you said. Oh, I would gladly volunteer to be an informant against drug users and pushers! I feel this is my patriotic duty. Oh, would I be intimidated by threats from punks, drug users or otherwise? Uhhh, NO! I believe that's one of the problems in this country. We're too afraid of getting involved and criminals run rampant. I feel IF we had more citizen involvement and caring, we'd be better off. I believe drugs are a huge part of the problems we have in this country.

Unfortunately people with decent morals, values AND integrity is VERY few and far between here in Colorado/Colorado Springs.

Drug dealers know how to do four things; deal drugs, commit crimes, lie, and threaten. It's a shame that people take pride in committing crime and don't know the first thing about being a decent person with morals. You might try working; that generates income.
