A soldier accused in the murder of Spc. Kevin Shields has struck a plea deal with El Paso county prosecutors.

Kenneth Lee Eastridge, 24, pleaded guilty to accessory charges on Friday in Shields' death. As part of the plea agreement, Eastridge will give testimony against the other two soldiers accused in the murder.

Former Fort Carson soldier Louis Edward Bressler, 25, and Pfc. Bruce Alan Bastien Jr., 21, face first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of Spc. Kevin Shields and the Aug. 4 robbery and shooting death of Pfc. Robert James.

All three soldiers served in Iraq with Shields, whose body was found December 1.

Eastridge will be sentenced on September 25. He will serve at least 10 years.
