Autopsy results will be announced today of the son of famed Colorado photographer John Fielder who was found dead in Clear Creek County.
Clear Creek County Sheriff's Department says the body of 26 year old John T. Fielder III was found Tuesday night near Empire, about 45 miles west of Denver.
The elder Fielder says his son killed himself on a backcountry skiing trip this week, possibly because he was upset over the recent death of his mother.
Friends reported the younger Fielder who had been skiing alone missing about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon in the Jones Pass area.
The Alpine Rescue Team located his body some six hours later in Butler Gulch, west of Empire.
The Denver Post reports that Virginia "Gigi" Yonkers Fielder died on September 11th after a 7 year struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was 58 years old.
