Thanksgiving may have come and gone, but for the families and friends of more than 200 soldiers out of Fort Carson, the celebration keeps going.
Two hundred and fifty soldiers are returning home Monday from a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan. The soldiers, who are with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, deployed in February and became responsible for four Afghan provinces in April.
According to Fort Carson, more than half of the 3,000 soldiers deployed to Afghanistan received combat badges for doing their jobs under fire.
The homecoming ceremony is currently scheduled for 5:25 p.m. at the Special Events Center. This time is subject to change; 11 News will be sure to report any schedule changes.
