Bond is set at $25,000 for a Colorado Springs mother accused of throwing a baby girl to the floor, causing head injuries that eventually killed her.
Thirty-six-year-old Tracie Preston faces a felony charge of child abuse resulting in death.
An arrest affidavit says Preston threw eight-month-old Bianca Preston to the floor "stomach first" on Tuesday, because the woman's two-and-a-half-year-old daughter wanted to sit on her lap instead.
Preston allegedly told police the girl's head hit the bed frame hard, and 12 hours later, Bianca was dead.
An autopsy found she died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigators say Preston drove around with the dead child in her van for several hours before a relative saw the girl and called police.
