Three of five American soldiers with Colorado ties who died in fighting in Iraq are to be honored with memorial services Thursday.
Lance Corporal Thomas J. Slocum of Thornton was among 10 Marines who died March 23rd in fighting near Nasiriyah in Iraq. His service will be at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of MaryCatholic Church in Northglenn.
In Longmont, about 35 miles away, a memorial service for Army Sergeant First Class Randall Rehn will be at one p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. His funeral will be later in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Army Captain Russell B. Rippetoe of Arvada will be buried Thursday in Arlington National Cemetery near Washington.
