Authorities say a man trying to ride down the rail of an escalator at Denver International Airport was seriously injured yesterday after he fell 20 feet.
Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the man fell on the escalator that leads to the shuttle train platform beneath Concourse A.
The victim is described as a man in his mid-20s who was traveling from Boston with three other people.
His name hasn't been released.
He was in critical condition yesterday at Denver Health Medical Center with a head injury.
Jackson says no charges are expected in the accident, which he characterizes as "somewhat horseplay."
DIA spokesman Steve Snyder says he couldn't recall anything similar happening before at the airport.
He says the escalator didn't malfunction.
