An Aurora teacher whose in-class comments regarding President Bush and Adolf Hitler sparked a nationwide debate is being reinstated, effective immediately.
Cherry Creek School Superintendent Dr. Monte Moses says social studies teacher Jay Bennish will return to the classroom on Monday.
The 28-year-old has been on paid administrative leave since March First, but spokeswoman Tustin Amole (AY'-mohl) insists that was NOT a disciplinary move.
His lawyer, David Lane, said his client didn't have to pay a nickel and has the full support of the school district.
Bennish says he's excited that he'll be returning to the classroom, and will continue to try to be the best teacher he can be.
The student who reported Bennish, Sean Allen, told K-H-O-W that he would do the same thing again. but he said he did not want to see Bennish fired.
Allen urged other students to tape their teachers if they make unbalanced remarks.
