Snow Helping Drought Conditions

The National Weather Service says the drought-parched southwest could get up to three feet of snow from a storm tonight.

The snowpack in the San Miguel-Dolores-Animas-San Juan basin is only 51 percent of the 30-year average and it is 43 percent in the Upper Rio Grande.

The Weather Service says up to three feet of snow could fall in the Telluride-Ouray area by Sunday afternoon.

Up to eight inches may fall by tomorrow morning in the Durango, Cortez and Pagosa Springs areas.
