New this morning, an early morning racing accident sends two men to the hospital and closes down a major Colorado Springs intersection.
It happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs.
Police say a Mitsubishi Eclipse and another unidentified vehicle were racing when they failed to stop at a light.
According to police, the Eclipse then hit a Ford pickup, forcing the truck to roll several times.
The Eclipse then caught fire.
Both passengers were pulled from their vehicles by a police officer.
Both men were taken to local hospitals.
The driver of the Eclipse is in serious condition but police say he has non-life threatning injuries.
The intersection at Austin Bliffs and Academy will be closed until 7 am.
