New Justice to be Sworn In

A swearing-in ceremony is set for next Monday in Denver for Allison Eid, the newest justice on the Colorado Supreme Court.

Eid was the state's solicitor general when Governor Owens nominated her for the position last month.

She also was an associate professor at the University of Colorado School of Law.

She is a conservative who was a clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Eid is replacing retiring Justice Rebecca Love Kourlis.

She will serve a provisional term of two years and then must stand for retention to serve an additional ten years. The annual salary is 119-thousand-739 dollars.
