Rocky Mountain National Park officials say three people suffered minor burns after being struck by lightning.

Rocky Mountain National Park officials say three people suffered minor burns after being struck by lightning.

Two men and a woman, all from Houston, were thrown to the ground Tuesday when they were struck by lightning near Mills Lake at about 12:20 p.m.

Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson said the 46-year-old man and 52-year-old man were burned on their feet. The woman, the wife of the 46-year-old, was burned on her arm.

They had been hiking with a group of eight people a family of seven and a friend and all were from Houston. The three were treated at the scene.
