Voters need to register and select a party affiliation by Monday, July 14 or they will not be able to vote in the Colorado State Primary Election.
There are several offices that are being uncontested, meaning that two republicans are running against each other, but no Democrat will be running against them. In this instance, the primary election will determine who earns that office.
This is the case in the contest for District Attorney. Dan May, a Republican, is running against John Newsome, also a Republican. The position will be determined by the Primary Election.
To register, or change party affiliation, just go to the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Web site by clicking on the link below.
You can print out the form or you can go to the office on Cascade to pick it up in person. The completed form has to be mailed, faxed or walked in to the office by next Monday.
The deadline to register for the general election in November is October 6.
