A search is being suspended in the disappearance of a Colorado Springs man whose car was discovered over the holiday weekend.

A car belonging to 41-year-old Charles Richard Harper Jr. was found at a Mount Herman campsite, but there was no sign of him.

A group of about 15 El Paso County Search and Rescue team members and two dog teams searched a half-mile radius around the campsite, but turned up nothing.

Harper was last seen at a church in Black Forest on June 8th. He e-mailed a sister three days later, but he hasn't been heard from since.

Authorities say his credit card and cell phone have not been used.

Search and Rescue spokesman Larry Lewis says searchers do believe Harper is familiar with the area.
