Early evidence from U-S Olympic Committee athletes and staffers indicates possible violations of federal fraud laws. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell made that announcement this morning during a visit to committee headquarters.

Neither Campbell nor Alaska Senator Ted Stevens would elaborate on what types of fraud may have occurred. The two are visiting Colorado Springs to talk with employees and athletes about problems with the committee's governance and fnances.

Campbell and Stevens say their main goal is to ensure and efficient organization that can provide the best training to athletes and ensure a healthy Olympic movement.
