Cell Phones Could Soon Be On "No-Call List"

Coloradans are a step closer to being able to add their cellphone numbers to the state's no-call telemarketing list. The Senate unanimously approved a plan this morning allowing inclusion of cellphone numbers on the list.

The bill faces a third reading before going back to the House for consideration of amendments. The bill was changed to make it effective immediately after Governor Owens signs it.

Leadville Senator Ken Chlouber says the measure is one of the most popular bills he has ever sponsored. Chlouber says cell phones were overlooked when the original legislation was passed last year. Nearly one million phone numbers have been placed on the no-call list since it was created last May.
