A ransom paid, and the victim was set free. That was in November 2005. Three months later, and Colorado Springs Police detectives are looking for one of the four men accused of the kidnapping.
Police have arrested three men. The suspect they're looking for is Fredy Lopez-Gamez.
Detective Rick Gysin with C.S.P.D. Major Crimes said, "We've been getting information he might be around town. We know he has friends and relatives around town."
Lopez-Gamez is 26 years old, six feet tall, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police believe he helped to kidnap Carlos Ornelas, picking him up on the Hancock Expressway, and later beating him inside a motel room.
Detective Gysin has talked with Ornelas and his family, "They're obviously very concerned because Fred Lopez-Gamez is still on the lose, and rightfully so. I think they should be concerned."
Police consider Lopez-Gamez armed and dangerous.
If you know where he is, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP in Colorado Springs or 542-STOP in Pueblo. Your anonymous tip could earn you a cash reward.
