The after effects of July fourth aren't making things any better for firefighters. This weekend, they're dealing with fireworks.

Fireworks are a concern up and down the front range. In Denver, a series of fires scorched dry land in a neighborhood, with one fire nearly destroying a home. Littleton firefighters said fireworks were to blame.

In El Paso County, a grass fire threatened a half dozen homes. Fireworks were a possible cause with that fire as well.

Fire crews say even though it may be legal to use fireworks in some areas of the state, it is still very dangerous, especially with these very dry conditions.

Since the actual cause of the grass fire is not known at this time, it shouldn't even be mentioned in this story. It's very clear that KKTV is trying to make personal fireworks look bad. More fear-mongering nonsense.
