Bin Laden Vows Never to be Captured Alive

According to an audiotape purportedly made by Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaida leader promises never to be captured alive and accuses the United States of using the same "repressive" tactics used by Saddam Hussein.
The eleven-minute tape was posted on a militant Web site and appears to be a complete version of one that was first broadcast last month on Al-Jazeera. That tape was authenticated by the C-I-A.
In the latest tape, bin Laden says he's "sworn to only live free" and that he doesn't want to die "humiliated or deceived."
With the implied criticism of Saddam, bin Laden appeared to be denying assertions by the Bush administration that the Saddam had ties to al-Qaida.
The initial excerpts had been the first tape from the al-Qaida leader in more than a year -- the longest period without a message since Nine-Eleven.
