After things calm down on the Fourth Of July, it's just the beginning for Colorado Springs law enforcement.
The holiday fell on a Friday this year, giving Springs residents more opportunity to celebrate.
Lieutenant Alan Scott says, "We've got a lot of officers with their schedules adjusted, a lot of officers working overtime. We're running pretty thin across the city."
As for DUI checkpoints, drivers didn't see them Friday night.
"To have a DUI checkpoint process on top of everything else really makes it, logistically, a problem," said Scott.
Instead, checkpoints will be set up Saturday night where there is sure to be some action.
Law enforcement is also concerned about legislation allowing liquor sales on Sundays, which could add to the already long weekend.
