A weekend storm increased the snowpack in several river basins but also brought cold weather and caused dozens of avalanches.
Statewide the snowpack increased from 76% on Friday to 80% this morning. That's 36% more snow than on the same date last year.
The Natural Resources Conservation Service says cold temperatures will delay the melting of the snowpack and likely delay the onset of the wildfire season.
Snow is likely in the high country throughout the week.
