Millions of tickets were sold, but none of them correctly matched the six winning numbers in the multi-state Powerball lottery game.
As a result, Wednesday's $300 million jackpot went unclaimed, hiking the size of the kitty to $365 million for Saturday's drawing.
That sets a new North American lottery jackpot record, surpassing the $363 million prize in May 2000 for "The Big Game," which has since been re-named Mega Millions.
Fourteen Powerball players came close Wednesday, matching five of the six winning numbers.
Each of those tickets is worth at least $200,000.
The winning numbers were: three, 13, 35, 39 and 40.
The Powerball was 37.
Powerball is played in 28 states, the nation's capital and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
