Mountain Snow

The long awaited snowstorm is moving across Colorado's central mountains. Ski resorts are reporting at least a foot of new snow and up to four inches of powder is predicted to fall along the northeastern plains.

Winter Park spokeswoman Joan Christensen says it's the biggest
storm in at least two months.

But, while meteorologists welcome the much needed moisture, they say it's not likely to reverse the state's worst drought on record. Jeff Colton, of the National Weather Service, says it will take several years of above normal moisture to start recovering from what we've lost.
