Colorado Springs Police have arrested a 17-year-old man in connection with Colorado Springs' latest murder.

The suspect's name isn't being released because he is a juvenille.

Authorities responded to reports of gunshots around 11:10 p.m. Monday night in the parking lot of the Copper Chase Apartments, 2041 Southgate Road, near South Nevada. When police arrived, however, they couldn't find any victims.

About five-minutes later, another call came in, reporting a traffic accident at the 7-11 Store nearby, located at 1802 South Nevada Ave. When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Matthew Webb behind the wheel of the car with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Another shooting reportedly happened at Airport and Murray. A man claims he was shot in the arm. Detectives are looking into if the two incidents are connected.

If you know anything about either shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. Your anonymous tip could earn you a cash reward.

I wish the cops were more than just traffic cops. Granted they can't know when someone will be murdered, but I'd love to see a cop whose actually doing REAL police work instead of building up revenue for the city. Their presence may have an effect on the ridiculous rate of crime in this city.

KI, get bent, its the "white military trash" that are putting their lives on the line everyday to protect you. No one loves a soldier until the enemy is at the gates!

I used to live at Copper Chase Apts back in 2004-2005. It wasnt the greatest place to live. I wouldnt let the kids play at the playground without actually being down there myself. And I could see the playground from my living room window! And I never let the kids go out after dark, and neither did I. Too dangerous. And this now proves it. Sooooooo incredably sad!

I have lived here for 20yrs. Its not the residents, its the surrounding area. Gang violence is a real "BIG" issue in the area. We just happen to be located right in the middle of it.

Sarah..what's wrong is a weakening economy. As gas and grocery prices rise so does crime rates. People are loosing there jobs. Jobs are being outsourced overseas. People can't feed their families anymore. It will get worse. But don't fret, now we can go to our local liquor store anyday of the week and just get smithering drunk, pass out and ignore what's going on in the world. It's so sad.
