Why The Video Looks Shaky (Don Ward)

Police in Colorado Springs are defending their use of tear gas against anti-war protests over the weekend.
The Colorado Springs demonstration was supposed to be peaceful---with at least 3,000 people lining sidewalks along Academy Boulevard.
But it turned ugly when a group of college-aged protesters broke
with organizers' instructions and blocked traffic lanes. Thirteen
people were arrested.
Police say the tear gas came out only after protesters became a hazard. They say one protester who threw back a tear gas canister
was shot with a rubber bullet, and that he was later zapped with a
stun gun when he resisted arrest.
A rally coordinator acknowledges the kids triggered a chain of
events that put "a number of people" in harm's way. But the
coordinator calls the police response "improper and poorly
planned."
Police say the rally was one of the largest in Colorado Springs
history.
