Spending Bill

House Bill 1256 would also pay for new academic buildings for
the University of Colorado.

The Capital Development Committee approved the bill on a 5-to-1
vote. It now goes to the full House for debate.

Beulah Representative Lola Spradley says the measure does not
have to get voter approval under the state's tax- and
spending-limitation amendment.

Spradley says the bill is not a tax increase. She says it just
prioritizes how the state spends revenues.
