Authorities will begin a statewide round up Wednesday, targeting at least 40 sex who failed to register as required by law.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says it's leading a multi-agency effort to find the unregistered offenders, most of whom are living in metro Denver and El Paso and Pueblo counties.
CBI Division Director Steve Johnson says the agency has compiled a list of 40 unregistered sex offenders whose circumstances make them their highest priority for the round-up.
More than 580 sex offenders in the state have failed to register, making them subject to arrest.
