Several grass fires that were reportedly sparked by lightning in Eastern El Paso County Wednesday night are now reportedly under control as of early Thursday morning.

According to Lt. Lari Sevene from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, there were at least four confirmed fires. Initial calls Wednesday night were for a fire burning near Loop Road (Hanover). Later, reports came in about multiple other fires burning. One reportedly sparked near Fairplay and Sweet Roads (Calhan), Ramah Highway and Funk Road (north of Yoder), and still another about a mile east of Peyton along the Pueblo County line.

Information about each of these fires is very limited at this time and there are no acreage estimates have been made. Stay with KKTV.com and KKTV 11 News for an update once more details become available.
