Residents of a Colorado Springs neighborhood hope others will learn from their experience.

Thieves have struck 27 homes in the Holland Park area in just the past month. Investigators say burglars are breaking into homes between seven a.m. and eight p.m. The thieves are prying off screens and entering through unlocked or poorly secured windows.

Police are urging residents to secure sliding doors as well. Authorities say Neighborhood Watch programs also work well to help deter crime. If you have any information on these crimes, call Colorado Springs Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
