Symphony Board And Union Agree To Mediation

A federal mediator will begin talks next week with musicians and the Colorado Springs Symphony. The symphony board and the musicians union have agreed to use a mediator for contract talks. The talks bogged down after the symphony filed for Chapter Eleven bankruptcy protection. Both sides also agreed to postpone Monday's hearing in U-S Bankruptcy Court. The symphony had filed a motion to dissolve the labor contract. The symphony is one million dollars in debt. Union members say symphony board mismanagement has caused the financial troubles.
