The Pueblo County Coronor confirmed that Officer Nicholas Heine died of a congenital heart defect.
Officer Heine died in the line of duty Saturday morning while responding to a call in downtown Pueblo.
A funeral for Heine is planned for Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at The Praise Assembly of God on Troy Avenue.
