A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect on Tuesday afternoon for most of Southern Colorado. Daytime heating and moisture will combine with a disturbance moving through Colorado to develop numerous thunderstorms. Any one of them will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain. Burn scars and areas that have seen recent heavy rain will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Employees of Colorado's five Media Play stores will lose their jobs, along with nearly two-thousand other workers, as the stores' parent company shutters the chain for good.
Minnesota-based Musicland Group Incorporated says it'll close all 61 Media Play locations across the country by late January.
The Colorado stores are located in Colorado Springs, Aurora, Westminster and Littleton.
Musicland spokeswoman Laurie Bauer says liquidating Media Play is "unfortunate but necessary," because it's been unable to find a niche in the marketplace.
Media Play sells CDs, DVDs, video games, books, computer gear and other items. It's a sister chain of Sam Goody, and Suncoast Motion Picture Company.
Media Play opened in 1992, and operates in 18 states.
