Updated: Sat 7:43 PM, Feb 01, 2003

Colorado's drought continues, and it could get worse. The past five months have seen the least snow in Denver since record-keeping began.

The previous record was 1887 to 1888 when 9.2 inches of snow fell through the winter. But this year, measurements at the end of January, only show, 8.7 inche fell during the five month period.

The city has had to ban sports on some fields and close half its
golf courses.

Today, temperatures were near record highs in the 70s.
