Farmers Worried About Drought

Many farmers don't know whether to plant their crops, or leave their fields open because they don't know if they'll have enough water. By now, farmers should be in the fields, getting the ground ready to be sewn. But instead tractors and other farm equipment stand idle. Last year's corn crop was just too dry to harvest, and because the corn was left in the field the grain bins are now empty. What's worse? This year could be even drier than last. All the farmer in the Arkansas Valley region are facing tough times. Some farmers are hoping for relief, but say this year, vegetable prices may be higher.
