Debris Cleared At Airplane Crash Site

Five dump trucks have hauled away all that remained of a Denver home destroyed by a plane crash and explosion last week. A backhoe started scooping up the wreckage about eleven o'clock Wednesday morning. Crews completed the cleanup about five hours later. A Cessna 172 Skyhawk crashed into the home last Friday after colliding with a twin-engine Piper Cheyenne in midair. All five people onboard the two planes died. The Cessna severed a natural gas line when it slammed into the house. The home exploded a short time later but three people inside escaped with minor injuries. The home's residents couldn't salvage anything. A fence now surrounds the site. Mourners have left cards and flowers in memory of the three people who died aboard the Cessna.
