The search for a missing stunt plane is over -- replaced by an investigation into what caused a crash that killed the plane's pilot.
A rancher discovered the wreckage of the plane about 7:30 this morning, some seven miles east of Calhan.
The pilot was the only person on board.
He was dead at the scene.
El Paso County sheriff's spokesman Lieutenant Clif Northam says the plane disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from Meadow Lake Airport in Colorado Springs about eight o'clock Monday morning.
A Search and Rescue team and Civil Air Patrol members searched last night, but were unable to locate the aircraft.
The pilot's name has NOT been released.
