After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Aurora police are digging in the yard of the family of a missing six-year-old girl whom investigators believe was the victim of a homicide as long as 18 months ago.
Police spokesman Marcus Dudley won't say what prompted officers to begin digging or what other work is going on at the house.
Aarone Thompson's father reported her missing one week ago today. Police say they believe she's dead and are treating the case as a homicide.
Meanwhile, a family spokesman says seven other children who lived in the same home will remain in protective custody for at least a week.
Sam Riddle says a juvenile court ruled today that the seven other children should remain in protective custody for now. The judge scheduled another hearing for next Tuesday.
The girl's father and his live-in girlfriend are considered "persons of interest" in the case.
