Two residents of a residential care facility have been located and are safe after they reportedly walked off the property Wednesday afternoon.
The women left The Senior Home on North Prospect in Colorado Springs at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to go to McDonalds. When they didn't come back, police were called.
Both women are considered at-risk adults: Jana Smith, 36, has suffered two strokes in the last two weeks, while Annette Varnum, 42, is bipolar and has the mentality of a 13-year-old. Varnum does have a history of leaving the facility and not coming back as she should.
Police announced Thursday that the women were found. They did not provide any further information on where they were located or why they were gone so long.
