Colorado Springs police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead.

Someone reported a shooting at an apartment building at about 1:00 a.m. When police arrived, they found a man's body inside an apartment.

No arrests have been made.

This comes just one week after a double homicide just a few miles away off Carmel and Monterey. That crime is still unsolved.

James Bonds lives just one door down from apartment 207 in the Shannon Glenn Apartments where the apparent shooting occurred.

Bonds' daughter lives there. She and her two kids weren't home when a man, whose name has not been released, was shot inside.

" Maybe if I would have heard it last night, maybe I would have been able to stop them from leaving my daughter's house," Bonds said.

Colorado Springs Police say an autopsy is set for tomorrow on the unidentified victim of last night's apparent shooting.
