A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Motorists around the country are benefiting from a welcome three-week decline in gas prices.
n Colorado, the average price for regular, self-serve gasoline dropped 9.5 cents per gallon from last week to $2.69 per gallon. Three weeks ago, the average statewide price was $2.93.
The national average price for self-serve regular gasoline has dropped to $2.59 per gallon, a 13-cent-per-gallon decline from last week, and a 35-cent-per-gallon decline from three weeks ago.
Despite the recent decline in prices, Coloradans are still paying an average of 70 cents more per gallon than one year ago, and $1.13 more than two years ago.
