Prosecutors in Arapahoe County say that Edward Montour today pleaded guilty to one count of murder in connection with the murder of Colorado Department of Corrections worker Eric Autobee last October.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.

Autobee was working at the Limon Correctional Facility when he was attacked and killed.

Corrections Department officials say the 23-year-old Autobee was killed by Montour because Montour was afraid for his life in the prison and wanted to be transferred from Limon.

Montour previously had been convicted in the murder of his 11-week-old daughter in Colorado Springs in 1997. Officials say he had been allowed to work in the prison kitchen because of good behavior.

Investigators say he attacked Autobee with a kitchen utensil.
