As gas prices climb, more and more Colorado Springs drivers are looking to ditch their guzzling rides for efficient cars.

"With rising costs of fuel, I'm looking to save a little bit of money in my everyday commute," said Cathy Salas.

Experts say it doesn't make sense for everyone to get a new set of wheels. The best thing to do is find out how much your car is worth and calculate how much you spend now on gas versus how much you will save with the car you're thinking of buying, before taking any drastic measures.

Ethenol, Flex fuel and hydrogen are an answer. Look into the water with gas research, it's shooting up like a rocket. You can convert your car for under $500 and it increases your gas milage by 40%. It doesn't even hurt your warranty. This is the research that even the oil companies can't stop.

karen you are right! we should be less dependent on foreign oil. pump it from alaska or the gulf of mexico (cheap labor there makes prices drop more) as there are huge oil reserves in the ground that need to be exhumed. we dont need foreign oil! and jay, is it a bicycle or a motorcycle?

Oil riggs in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah are not running and Gas prices are extremly high. These riggs use to all run and gas prices were around $1.39 a gallon. Why are we buying oil from other countries when we have oil here? Gas prices keep going up but wages are not.

What was the point of this idiotic news blip? This doesn't show ways to save at the pump. I know to save money at the pump by stealing it from my gas tank after I filled it. So, maybe it should include how even with a lock on the gas tank people are still able to steal gas from a truck! Do a story about that and how people are now stealing from other cars/trucks in order to save money at the pump. This is happening everywhere not just here. It happened to me this last weekend in NE while staying at a hotel. It happened to my wife two weeks ago here. I think I'll stick to my bike.
